MEET THE TEAM
Kristina
VMD | CCAS | K9 Search & Rescue Handler
I grew up playing softball and learned to lift during the off season. In college, I joined the rowing team which really lit my fire for endurance sports and training.
I took a personal training class with a hands-on internship during college, which taught me the why's of training theory and sealed the deal for my love for exercise physiology. I loved taking these principles not only to help others reach their goals, but also into my own training for rowing, as well as crossfit, obstacle course races, trail and ultra running.

In vet school, I finally discovered my niche at the PennVet Working Dog Center. Coming from a family of first responders, it all made sense to take everything I loved, veterinary medicine, dog training, fitness, and outdoors skills, and be able to serve my community. I completed externships with Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team as well as Cornell University Sports Medicine, University of Missouri Sports Medicine, Veterinary Orthopedic and Sports Medicine group, furthering my knowledge to support sporting and working dogs.
I was also fortunate enough to connect with a great local search and rescue team that treated me like family right off the bat, I was hooked and Summit loved her new job.

After college, while waiting to start veterinary school, I got Summit, because I simply wanted "a dog who could run with me" and she changed everything. She was the intersection between veterinary medicine, exercise science, adventure, and dog training.

I met Jules in vet school, and we just happen to keep crossing paths at all of the same clubs and events, and it turned out we only lived 45 minutes from each other back home. We taught a Canine Good Citizen class together and it was only a matter of time before we put our heads together and came up with Performance Unleashed!
